Hi, my name is Honza. I'm a developer with a focus on quality of code and rapid development tools. I enjoy working for high-tech companies, reading (programming) books and contributing to the open-source community. I have 10+ years of experience with a variety of programming languages. My favourites are Ruby, Elixir and Erlang. I'd love to gain professional experience with Rust. For fun, I build robots and I'm active in the 3D printing community. Visit my Github profile for some examples of my work. Also, make sure to check out my blog about electronics.
Building software to make travel better. I joined the company to work on an innovative codeless automation tool written in Typescript. As the main contributor and interim team leader, I helped shape the architecture and bring the service to production. Currently, I am using Elixir to make tools for browser-based automation. I am also working on a Golang project related to proxying and fingerprinting HTTP traffic. In addition to my coding responsibilities, a big part of my work is improving the engineering culture through coaching and workshops.
Taking the BS out of BI. My job was to ensure analysts could distribute insights to all of their 10K+ clients seamlessly. I was the maintainer of the open-source GoodData SDK and several internal projects. My other responsibilities included interviewing job candidates, mentoring newcomers and establishing coding standards across teams. I was fortunate to code mostly in Ruby/JRuby and to learn some Erlang.
Making test engineers' lives easier by developing a CI system called Final CI. Based on Travis, it focuses on UI testing, full-blown virtual machines and mobile devices. Most components are open-sourced. I was involved in all parts of development from specification to release.
